Top 100 Player Withdraws from 2024 PGA Championship, Marks Third WD in Four Starts

Taylor Montgomery, currently ranked 100th in the Official World Golf Ranking, has withdrawn from the field for the third time in four starts. His latest withdrawal comes ahead of the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club, with C.T. Pan added to the field in his place.

Montgomery’s recent withdrawals include the CJ Cup Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch, where he withdrew after a challenging first round, and the Valero Texas Open, where he withdrew after the opening round.

Despite these setbacks, Montgomery has shown promise this season, making the cut in seven out of 13 starts and earning over $1 million. His standout performance includes an 11th-place finish at the Players Championship.

The PGA Championship at Valhalla boasts a field of 156 players, featuring major winners like Brooks Koepka and offering the winner a lifetime exemption into the event and a replica of the Wanamaker Trophy.
